Forty Episodes is an English-language guide to where Chinese dramas can be watched legally, country by country. We’re looking for a curious, detail-minded student in France to help us tell that story from where they are.
Apply nowYou’ll join a small research and editorial project at the meeting point of streaming, licensing and fandom, and help shape how the guide covers France: which shows reach French viewers, on which services, with which subtitles, and what French audiences are actually watching.
Each month you’ll write a Dispatch: a report on how Chinese dramas are being talked about in France. What fans are watching and recommending, which shows people are asking for and in which language, where the conversation happens, and what changed on local services, with links to what you read. Dispatches are published on Forty Episodes under your name, or anonymously if you prefer. Halfway through the month you’ll send a short note of five bullets. You’ll also flag any unlicensed copies of shows you come across; those go to the editor only and are never published.
It’s a chance to see how international television distribution works from the inside, build a portfolio of published research, and work closely with the editor on a growing project.
Email [email protected] with “Internship – France” in the subject, and attach your CV and a cover letter. In the cover letter, tell us where you study, which languages you read, which streaming services you already use, and where you follow conversation about Chinese dramas.
